Betting In Texas Hold’em

Published March 15th, 2009

Texas Hold’em is one of the popular poker games being played in online poker rooms.
Betting Limits of Texas Hold’em are standard. The maximum bet is twice that of the lowest bet in the online poker. The player who is to the left of the dealer posts the “small blind” bet (rough amount) which is one half of the lowest bet.

The player who is to the left of the small blind places a bet which is the lowest bet amount in the poker games.  Two face down cards are given to every player. These cards are personal cards and are not shown to other. The betting round starts with the first player to the left of the big blind.  Players may call, raise or fold. These bets must be the game lowest.

Three cards face up cards are then dealt in the center of the table. These are called community cards and can be used all the players.  A second betting round gets started opening with the first lively player to left of the dealer.  A fourth card which is also a community card is dealt face up.

A third betting round gets positioned. The fifth and final community card is dealt face up. The last betting round takes place. The residual player’s hands are calculated to decide the winner.
